Reflections of the Self
The Full Moon in Leo is almost upon us. This Full Moon is the epitome of one's light being reflected back to them. This is true of all Full Moons, but because the Moon is in the Sun's sign of Leo, there's an extra degree of potency in that message...

Happy February! For the Full Moon in Leo update, I am delighted to feature Canadian astrologer Tracy Quinlan (more about her at the end of her article). I will be back again for the New Moon in Pisces.

If I speak of myself in different ways, that is because I look at myself in different ways.
~ Michel de Montaigne, The Complete Essays
The Full Moon will perfect on Sunday February 5th at 11:28 am MST or 1:28 pm EST at 16 degrees and 40 minutes of Leo.
With the Moon reflecting the Sun's light, this is a time when you'll see reflections of yourself in others. If someone is getting under your skin, take a beat and ask yourself what about them is a reflection of you? This is not an easy exercise, but the time is ripe for self reflection- take advantage of it.
Since all of the planets have gone direct, it feels like everything is full steam ahead. This has many of us busier than we've been in weeks, even months.
This particular lunation chart has every planet answering to Saturn (by dispositorship, called the Final Dispositor) and so we may all feel the weight of responsibilities, or feel alone, or need to create boundaries.
We are lucky to have the fiery energy of Jupiter in Aries and the loving flowy vibes of Venus in Pisces- both are wonderful in their own way, but in the end, Saturn will have his way with us, so don't put off tomorrow what can be done today.
This Full Moon in Leo features a dynamic configuration with Uranus making a T-square to the Sun and Moon. Squares between planets create tension. The aspect is productive, but it leads to stress and strain.
The T-square can create tension and agitation, and we may waste a lot of energy engaging in conflict. With Uranus at the apex of the T-square, the tension may be coming from unpredictable circumstances, unstable conditions or a desire to remove oneself from the group.
When the signs in the configuration are in fixed signs- here we have Sun in Aquarius, Moon in Leo and Uranus in Taurus - conflicts kicked up by these planets may be longer lasting than we'd like.
If you have a personal planet in the middle degrees of Scorpio (14-17), this Full Moon may have you changing direction or shifting gears in shocking ways. The need for change will be exigent.
For anyone with planets or angles (Midheaven, Ascendant, Descendant, and IC) in the middle degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus or Scorpio, this Full Moon in Leo will shake up some area of your life.
Keep in mind, whatever you take on will have longevity; also you will have the staying power to stick with it. Just keep in mind, the energy of a T-square can leave us not knowing when to quit, it can lead to burn out, and this is true for all of us.
Jupiter in Aries is like a flaming freight train dragging us down the tracks whether we can keep up or not, so it's up to you to enjoy some of that watery Venus in Pisces stuff. Take a bath, meditate, engage in some kind of self-care that lets you rest and recharge.
I love this quote From Thich Nhat Hanh:
When you have pain within you, the first thing to do is to bring the energy of mindfulness to embrace the pain. 'I know that you are there, little anger, my old friend. Breathe- I am taking care of you now.'
~ True Love -A Practice for Awakening the Heart
And this one from Amanda Owen:
If you stop complaining, not only will your goal become attracted to you, people will too.
~ The Power of Receiving
The planetary energy is so potentially intense now, that trying to stay on the positive side of any situation will bring better outcomes. So, remember to be kind to yourself. xoxo
Sabian Symbol
Sabian Symbol for Leo 17: A non-vested church choir – OR – Volunteer church choir makes social event of rehearsal.
Some positive themes are: "Making the most out of life. Feelings of togetherness. Having a cause. Celebrations of spirit. Busking and street singing. Gatherings. Church halls. Volunteers. Generosity." Some not so positive themes of this symbol: "Trivial gatherings. Being afraid to lift your voice. Fear of mixing in with others. Standing in the background. Continually doing for others without being paid." (Lynda Hill)
What is striking about these themes is that even though they are connected to the placement of the Moon, they illustrate the astrology of the rest of the Full Moon chart so nicely. Socializing is connected to Venus. Having a cause, celebration of spirit, and generosity all connect to Pisces, which both Venus and Neptune are in. And the fear of being seen or heard is Saturn's influence.
